Gramática (Grammar)
Reflexive verbs are verbs where the subject and the direct
object are the same. In English you frequently add the reflexive pronouns:
oneself, myself, yourself, himself, herself, ourselves, themselves, after the
verb.
In Spanish you add the reflexive pronouns: me, te, se, nos,
se before the verb (except infinitive, indicative)

To form the negative, you add “no” before the reflexive
pronoun: Yo no me levanto temprano.
Reflexives are used much more in Spanish than in English.

The Reflexive is often used in Spanish for the passive
voice.
Active: I sell the house. Yo vendo la casa.
Passive: The house is being sold. La casa se
vende. (“the house sells itself”)
Active: The child breaks the toy El niño
rompe el jugete.
Passive: The toy is being
broken. El
jugete se rompe. (“the toy breaks itself”)
Active: You burn the food. Tú
quemas la comida.
Passive: The food is
burning. La
comida se quema. (“the food burns itself”)
